Australia's Most Spectacular Coastline
From Torquay to Apollo Bay the road hugs the coastline and every bend reveals a sight more spectacular than the last.
The Great Ocean Road starts at Torquay the home of surfing and snakes its way through to the western border of Victoria.
The Great Ocean Road takes you through one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world, snaking through 250 kilometres of twisting and touring roads, it reveals the wild beauty of Australia's southern coastline on one side and the lushness of the Otway Ranges on the other.
The region becomes busy during summer with holiday makers flocking to holiday houses, camping grounds and any other available accommodation, wanting to make the most of the beach, surf, fishing, dining and entertainment along the coast.
Along the Great Ocean Road at Port Campbell lies one of the most famous landmarks in Australia - the Twelve Apostles - great stone pillars that rise up over the waves, which have been cut away by years of pounding surf.
Further West, as the road takes you through the forest of the rugged Otway Ranges and Forest parks travellers will discover the breathtaking scenery that the West Coast offers.
We encourage everyone to take their time to explore this magnificent journey, allow yourself 2-3 days travelling time.
